As part of 4 Seasons of Indigenous Learning, we invite you to join us for… Season 2: Learning from the Land

This year of learning aims to support you in strengthening your personal connections with, and understanding of, the local Land as a way of allowing yourself to better understand and appreciate local Indigenous knowledge, perspectives, culture and history. See full details and register on the Outdoor Learning School & Store.

In this course, we will:

  • Explore and build our relationships with the Land;

  • Examine ways of interacting with the Land, and learning more about the Land;

  • Discuss teaching and learning from the Land;

  • Learn and share best practices for bringing this knowledge and experience into the classroom or to share with others.

This season of learning was developed in partnership with the Outdoor Learning School & Store as part of the 4 Seasons of Indigenous Learning.

If you haven’t completed Season 1: Foundations of Knowledge (or the module-based learning offered by Reconciliation Education) we encourage you to complete this year of learning first. Season 2 will be more reflective, in comparison to Season 1: Foundations of Knowledge, and will provide prompts to get outside, and ground your learning in your local place.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

“I want to express my gratitude towards you for the course, Season 2. I learned so much, embodied rather than just intellectually, that I have grown. As a person, as a friend, as a colleague, as an wilderness guide, as a entrepreneur.

The many keys in the chapters, sessions, movies and books, have helped me develop my thinking, my awareness, my attitude. Even more, I would say, the interplay between your teachings, my experiences in Sámi Homeland, my search for bridging wilderness and boardrooms, bridging indigenous and non-indigenous, bridging international guides and local community members.. has helped me find my place in this world, my direction, and peace of mind through ancient wisdoms.”

“Season 2 was very much focused on learning from and being inspired by the land. The coursework guided me, and many others, on a journey to deepen the connection I have with the land, and in many ways to reconnect. By offering tangible exercises that encouraged me to think and reflect this course has given me a new way to reciprocate what I often receive from the land. I would highly recommend this course to anyone who is considering.”
