The Laboratory School at

Dr. Eric Jackman Institute of Child Study

Natural Curiosity is housed at The Dr. Eric Jackman Institute of Child Study (JICS) Laboratory School, a Nursery to 6th Grade School at Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), University of Toronto. Laboratory Schools exist to explore what is possible in education. They also serve a public purpose. Natural Curiosity emerged in 2011 as an initiative to develop and disseminate an inquiry approach to environmental learning, reaching public school educators and making a difference in school communities across Turtle Island.

Many educators at the JICS Lab School have contributed to the Educator Stories in Natural Curiosity 2nd Edition: The Importance of Indigenous Perspectives in Children’s Environmental Inquiry.
